LineageOS Is Rolling Our Android 9 Pie To Older Android Device

LineageOS (formerly known as CyanogenMod) has been keeping many Android devices running for years. The free and open source OS which is based on Android mobile operating system updates Android devices whose manufacturers have stopped receiving the latest Android software security patch.

The project has almost 2 million active installations from Android users. Recently, the project officially  ended support for LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1), and has now rolled out LineageOS 16.0 to Android phones and tablet users.

The LineageOS 16.0 brings Android 9 Pie to 30 devices, for now. The updates brings all the features that stock Android 9 Pie has to offer, and even went far to update the Styles API to be compatible with Android Q's dark mode.

"In the future, more and more third party apps will follow the system style," LineageOS said in a blog post. "meaning our Styles API will allow you to have a more coherent experience across apps"

The update also brought other new improvements to LineageOS permission manager, Trust. Blocked connections on USB when the device is locked. The default launcher, Trebuchet, now has the ability to hide apps.

Below is the list of Android devices receiving the LineageOS 16.0 (Android 9 Pie) update for now as more device will be added subsequently as the months goes by.
